Kathryn Ellis is an associate with the firm whose practice is focused primarily on personal injury, workers’ compensation, wrongful death, and products liability.
Ms. Ellis was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Alexandria, Virginia. She graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia in 1996 with a B.A. in History and Political Science. She then completed an M.A. (1998) and a Ph.D. (2007) in History at the University of Tennessee and obtained her J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law in May 2010.
While in law school, Ms. Ellis served as a member of the Labor & Employment Moot Court Team and as Vice-Chair of the Moot Court Board. In her role as Vice-Chair, Ms. Ellis coordinated the 2010 Ray H. Jenkins Trial Competition. Ms. Ellis also participated in UT Law Women, Phi Alpha Delta, the Student Host Program, the Student Advisor Program, and as a student member of the Hamilton Burnett American Inn of Court.
Ms. Ellis was admitted in 2010 to practice law in the state courts of Tennessee. She is a member of the Knoxville Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, and Tennessee Association for Justice.
